I love traditions, who doesn’t? Three years ago I instituted my own Fall tradition. It’s pretty darn basic, but pretty darn AWESOME! On the first day of fall I like to pull out my fall decorations, bake a pie and watch You’ve Got Mail. Besides the fall decor I realize that neither of those activities are season specific. BUT when you combine it all together and add in a pumpkin candle and play a little “fall music” aka my pandora station that plays Ingrid Michaelson, Jack Johnson, Michael Buble and the such it just feels oh so fallish.
I do like to decorate with actual pumpkins and gourds, but so far have not purchased any. So my decor is slightly lacking right now. Here is the beginning:
A new table centerpiece with a twig pumpkin, a ceramic pumpkin, a mercury glass pumpkin candle all placed on a cake stand. Similarly I added a second ceramic pumpkin and candle to my (new) side table. And rounded it all out with some autumn colored kitchen towels and replacing my bird with a pumpkin, sticking to the white theme next to the plants (that are slowly dying).
Oh and we can’t forget about the pie! Mixed berry……raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. With some nice leaf cutouts on the crust.
HAPPY FALL!!!
