Attending Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market has become a favorite family event. For the past two years, our 3 year old has tagged along and she has become our little vintage-shopping buddy. I was nervous we would miss it this past year because I was 39 weeks pregnant. But our little girl decided to hold off until 2 days after Junk in the Trunk, just so we could attend 😉 And I am so glad she did because we walked away with a few awesome finds, one of which I am currently sitting in.
There are so many things to love about Junk in the Trunk. Of course, my favorite is the amazing vintage finds you walk away with from various vendors. A close second is the atmosphere. Everybody is excited and eager to enter with anticipation of what they will find. At the last market, we met two of the kindest, most vibrant ladies while waiting to enter. It is a fun environment where everybody is there for the same thing, to find some beautiful junk! And bonus, you can always take a few dance breaks between scoping out vendors as they always have live music. This was a lifesaver with our 3 year old 😉
This sign from @ourfoundhome is a favorite of mine from this past year. Two years ago, I got one for my mom for her birthday and I just knew I needed to get one for myself. Our book wall was the perfect place for it!
Now, here are some helpful tips that I’ve learned attending Junk in the Trunk over the years. First, early entry, early entry, early entry! Not only do you get to have first pick at the items, but you can go back Sunday with your early admission ticket. We live 5 minutes away from the Pomona market, so we always go back Sunday to see what treasures are still available.
Another benefit to early entry is beating the crowds. It is much easier to maneuver with a wagon, which leads me to my second tip, bring a wagon or something to help hold smaller items! For larger items, they will help you load into your car, but you don’t want to worry about lugging around those smaller items. The more you worry about that, the less time you have to shop. Also, make sure to have some cash on hand. Most vendors will take cards as well, but cash is quicker and gets you moving on to the next vendor to find more junk.
One thing is for sure, Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market is a must attend! Not only will you walk away with some amazing finds, you will have a fabulous time!
