It’s the middle of January, and I’ve still got the organizing itch. How ’bout you? The closet is coming along, and I’ve even found time to get in a few more projects! Even if you’ve lost your zest for organizing already, the right tools can inspire you to get back into the fray. So here they are, our favorite tools for organizing.
Lindsey is a big fan of baskets for just about everything from kids toys to towels. Nothing hides a mess quite like a pretty basket. Both Beth and Coley hide the mess of kids’ shoes in a cute basket. Here are some fun ideas of how to use baskets for organization. Love ! Wire baskets keep fabric contained, but also visible. For toys, labeling is so important so kiddos know where things belong. This idea from I Heart Organizingis super cute. Why use an ugly filing cabinet when you can hide your files in a pretty basket? The year on the outside makes it easy to know where to find just what you need.
Another favorite of the Junk in the Trunk blog team is jars. Beth uses large jars on the counter in the kitchen to keep baking staples within reach. Check out this awesome desktop organizer from It’s Overflowing Here’s another take on Lindsey’s mason jar chore system that would work almost anywhere.
Mandy (who just may be the most organized of the JITT team) can’t live without her post it notes! Who can stay organized without a to do list? She also loves drawer dividers to keep her kitchen utensils in shape. Fun colors don’t hurt either!
Chantelle, the youngest and definitely most technologically savvy member if the team, thinks her phone is her most important organizing tool. She keeps all her appointments, notes, calendars, emails and etc in one place. Ok, so not exactly THAT phone, but you get the idea!
Happy Organizing!
