When should I visit? If you enjoy crowds, high energy shoppers and the pick of the BEST one of a kind vintage pieces, Saturday morning is the time for you! We caution parents with strollers and wagons that it will be more difficult to maneuver with the crowds. A baby carrier is recommended for ease of shopping in the booths. If you enjoy a more relaxing shopping experience, Saturday afternoon and Sunday would be the best for you! Our curators re-stock throughout the weekend, so you’re sure to find great JUNK all weekend! And no matter when you come, we have LIVE music all weekend for your listening pleasure! Obadiah Parker, Lee Perreira and Evan Zee!
What should I wear? With over 100,000 square feet of the BEST vintage and handmade shopping, you will want to wear comfortable shoes. The venue in indoors with restrooms on site.
What should I bring? Bring a tote for your smaller items and cash. Most vendors take cards, but a few only take cash. ATM’s will be on site.
What happens if I purchase a large item? We will have JITT Muscle that will help you carry large furniture to your car. Because of the layout of this event, we will not be offering a holding zone. Once a large item is purchased, head to the JITT Muscle tent {located near the entrance} and a staff member will help carry your item to your car.
Dining: Food available inside, as provided by the fairground food vendors as well as a few food trucks outside the event.
Handicapped Access: There are many handicapped parking spaces available. We do not have wheelchairs for rent, however, the venue is easily accessible for wheelchairs if you bring your own.
We are so excited to host our first event in LA and can not wait to meet you! Here is a little bit about how we started…
Coley Arnold and Lindsey Holt first met at a church fellowship group for young, married couples and became instant friends. Bonding over the new journey of motherhood was the first commonality as Arnold had recently given birth to her first child, Baylor and Holt was pregnant with her first. Shortly after meeting, the two founders realized that they had more in common as they discovered their shared love of vintage treasures.
While adventuring through the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada, they began discussing their frustration over a lack of community and places to shop for vintage items in the greater Phoenix area. They joked about starting their own event so they could shop themselves. Their husbands didn’t laugh. They immediately saw a good business idea and encouraged their wives to pursue it. The first market was held in a friend’s backyard and they welcomed 23 vendors along with their own items that they had been saving for the event. The backyard market was a success with over 600 people showing up. There were cars parked along streets for several blocks in the neighborhood!
The founders knew they were on to something and began planning their next events and selected a venue, Westworld of Scottsdale, which would allow the market to grow for years to come. In 2015, they welcomed over 35,000 shoppers to their events. Growth and expansion continued in 2015 with an expanded 3-day Arizona market and the first out of state event in 2016 in San Diego, CA. Both Holt and Arnold are thrilled to announce several exciting new projects in the coming months as they continue to share their love for all things chippy, rusty, vintage and handmade.
