Last week I promised a fun and unique way to display your kids’ crazy artwork, so here it is! Since we paint a lot around here, we have a stack of paintings to the moon (and back, said Big Nutbrown Hare). I’m always looking for a way to display our masterpieces besides hanging them on the wire in our playroom. An empty wall in our living room seemed to be the perfect place to show off a personalized frame for your little artists’ portfolio.
First find or take a profile pic of your little cutie, and print it out as an 8 x 10 on photo paper or really thick cardstock. Trace the outline with a sharpie – this just makes it easier to cut out. Once the profile is cut out, trace it with a pencil onto black paper.
Sorry about the glare…just wanted ya to be able to see the pencil outline.
Use your trusty exacto knife to cut out the silhouette. You should end up with this.
Look how clean and organized my desk looks with a big ole piece of black cardstock in front of it!
Cut your masterpiece to fit behind the silhouette and pop it onto a frame. Hang and enjoy!
