In general I am pretty organized. I am one of those people who likes to know exactly where everything is at all times. Life runs so much smoother and I use my time so much more efficiently if I plan and organize. So here are a few things that I like to use to keep everything running smoothly.
First off this awesome accordion storage folder. I picked this bad boy up in the dollar bins at Target last week. SO much cuter than the one I had been using previously.
Do you guys use these bad boys? They come in very handy…..for just about everything. I know Lindsey uses hers for budgeting, I’ve seen friends use them to sort coupons, and I use it for receipts. Specifically for my Etsy shop. One compartment for each month, and I can easily store all of the receipts for my supplies and expenses. Making them so much easier to organize when tax time rolls around.
Next we have the good ol trusty day planner. I go back and forth with using them. Maybe most of you are all high tech and electronic using your smart phones to keep track of it all. But I’m old school in this sense. I really like writing things down. It is just so much more satisfying – like marking things off your to do list. I just picked up my 2013 one from Target. They had a ton of really cute ones, which we all know bears nearly as much weight as functionality right? This one however does get my full stamp of approval and recommendation. It has really nice color coded tabs for each month, a full month at a glance view and daily pages. Lots of extra space for the lists I love to make. Initially I had two in my cart because I just couldn’t decide which one I liked better. Did I want the orange with gold polka dots or the stripes?
I guess after my last post about my love of all things nautical you could have guessed I would have ended up with the stripes. But I mean really how could I pass it up it looks right at home in my living room. On a different note I realized when I took this picture that I am clearly really into geometric patterns lately. Between my curtains, new throw, the pillows I recently made and that quilt that I FINALLY finished, there is definitely a trend.
Speaking of the quilt. Remember way back when I thought I would make it all in one weekend? Eons later I did finish it. It is far from perfect, but being the first quilt I made all on my own I am pretty proud. It was worth all the frustration because I absolutely love the way it turned out. And like a proud mother I shall give you a lovely picture of it.
