1962 Gibson Melody Maker D guitar in excellent condition This is a smooth planting versatile guitar made in Kalamazoo Michigan. It was originally intended as a beginner guitar with a light weight mahogany body and neck, but over time has been a popular guitar with lady rockers and new age players, The melody maker was intended to compete with Fender guitars and has two drop in single coil pickups. In 1961 Gibson made all their guitars with dual cutaways and the Melody Maker was part of that design change. It also had the new Gibson Vibrola. This piece also has a carryover bridge from earlier models a Gibson Wrap Around Bridge. This vintage Gibby features a 24 3/4 scale rosewood fretboard. The guitar has appropriate crazing in the finish and typical bumps and scrapes. The frets are in superb shape and the action is very low and playable.
