Description
Since 1927, this cookbook has been in production. The wives of Congressman at the time put this together. During every Presidency since that time, a new cookbook is created. This cookbook was created in 1970 (8th Edition), during the Nixon presidency. The Congressional Club was created to promote friendship and cordiality amongst the Congressional wives. Putting a cookbook together is a favorite project of these ladies. Each recipe that’s listed is signed by the wife of the Representative during that time (included in the picture-Cheese Balls). The cover, back and pages of the book are in very good condition. The Spine has a small tear (shown in the picture).
Not only does this cookbook have a plethora of recipes from around the U.S. and the World, it also includes information as who made up the Supreme Court, States in Order of Admission to the Union, and even how to accept an invitation to the White House. And it looks like ads were added in the front and back of the book to help finance some of the costs.
