Hi everyone! Who’s getting excited for the upcoming Market this Saturday!? Though I won’t be there in person (sad) I’ll be there with you all in spirit! I thought I’d do a quick interview sesh with Lindsey and Coley, the beautiful ladies behind Junk in the Trunk, to get you all pumped up for this week’s Market!
1. What are you looking forward to the most at this May 3rd Market?
“Oh so many fun things! We are launching Junk in the Trunk Vintage!!! yeah! We have some really exciting and yummy food options including some food trucks!! And one of my favorites, we teamed up with some local artists for a fun entry as shoppers are waiting in line!” ~Lindsey
“I always love seeing the shoppers start lining up! It’s so exciting! Also, watching people leave with amazing stuff and a huge smile on their face! The new building is amazing too!” ~Coley
2. What is your favorite part of the JITT Markets?
“I think my favorite part is the community that we have built! I love how excited everyone gets, from the vendors and building friendships with them and to see and hear all the excitement from shoppers.” ~Lindsey
“I love watching the vendors in their element. We have some of the most talented artists and curators and it is truly amazing to watch the booths come together.” ~Coley
3. What’s going to be new at this May’s Market?
“I guess I covered a lot of this in questions one. We also have a couple local shops (Found & WestElm, which technically I guess West Elm is not local, but operate somewhat locally) creating some super fun Design Spaces right when shoppers walk in to get their mind and inspiration flowing! We are inside a beautiful new building, not the tent, which has a/c and bathrooms inside the building!” ~Lindsey
“We get to have food trucks this time which is exciting! And we also have the new building with ac!” ~Coley
4. What trends are you loving right now?
“Well we are always big fans of the color mint, whether its in trend or not and gold for that matter, but nautical is a big trend right now and this is also the theme of the market.” ~Lindsey
“The theme of the market is nautical, which we picked months ago and never guessed it would be such a huge trend right now.” ~Coley
5. How many vendors will there be this year?
“We have 174 vendors! Our largest number yet. In November we have 140.” ~Lindsey
6. What should we be on the lookout for at the May Market?
“I think a lot of the same AMAZING chippy rusty vintage goodness, I’ve seen lots of beautiful large furniture pieces in bright fun colors, industrial pieces, lots of awesome wood & pallet signs, handcrafted teepees, industrial lighting, chippy doors & windows, beautiful and unique mixed media pieces and jewelry. Really there is something for everyone!” ~Lindsey
“Junk in the trunk is launching an apparel line at the market! Vintage inspired designs and comfortable tees for all life’s moments!” ~Coley
7. Favorite story from a market?
“I can’t really even recall one specific story, but I think it really is just amazing to see the event through from the very beginning, from vendors arriving Friday and getting them all setup to Saturday morning from crazy early in the morning when people setup lawn chairs and begin waiting in line so they can get first dibs on all the fabulous treasures! To then just hearing the rumble and excitement from people throughout the day and hearing how they have spent hours upon hours walking around and around the entire building several times to make sure they didn’t miss anything!” ~Lindsey
“I don’t have a favorite story, but I love when people tell me they have been walking around for 4 hours and still want to go around the booths again because they don’t want to miss anything!” ~Coley
8. How is this Market different from your very 1st Market?
“Wow, so different I don’t even know where to start, our first market we had 23 vendors in a friends backyard in Scottsdale and we ran a central checkout! We definitely learned our lesson there, but to go to where we are now is pretty crazy.” ~Lindsey
“ Our first market had 23 vendors and now we have 175! It’s surreal to think about the growth in a few short years!” ~Coley
So many fun and exciting things to look forward to this Saturday at the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market! You do not want to miss out on this amazing event!
