A couple weeks ago I found this cloche with a wood base at the thrift store for $2. Score! I already had one cloche, but without the wood base, so I was very excited to find one with the base. Cloches are so great and very versatile for decorating. But I thought it might be kind of fun to update it a bit. So I decided to take that wood base and paint it a bright fun turquoise. I used the same technique that I used on the wood salt and pepper shakers a while back. I used just 2 light coats of paint, but making sure its evenly covered.
Once the paint is nice and dry (I let mine dry over night) then with some fine sandpaper you can add a light distressing.
And that’s it. A fun little update to the old wood base. A nice way to brighten up a room!
