Name: Jeree Brown
Business Name: The Lemonade Parade
Shops where people can find you: Etsy
Personal bio: Wife to Grant the golfer and momma to Nathan (4.5), Ellie (2.5) and Asher (5months). Born and raised a Sooner in my home state of Oklahoma with a love for antique shopping. I have way too many crafty hobbies including my new ones: bible/art journaling, mixed media, watercolor, and hand lettering.
How did you start your business & why? I saw the concept of the Midori Traveler’s Journal from Japan after a snowball search on pinterest – scripture journaling led to sketch notes which led to bullet journaling which led to moleskins, which led to the Midori. Phew. I was also pregnant with my third child at the time and I have this weird form of nesting that involves trying to start a business/ make some side cash. This has been my best try yet!
How would you best describe your style and the items you sell? The Fauxdori (as we refer to any handcrafted cover modeled after a Midori) is a refillable journal cover made to last a lifetime. You can replace the notebooks on the inside (referred to as inserts) as fast as you fill them up. Many people use them for a day planner, sketch book, food/diet log, art journal, diary/journal, or anything you might want to record. It’s a little piece of analog heaven in our digital world.
When was your first Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market? Remember that strange nesting habit?? Well, when I was pregnant with my second child I also shared a booth with Little Bee & Me to sell some handmade fabric items. But this go around, the fauxdoris and I debuted at the May market this year.
And what is your favorite part about the event? Or a favorite memory? This May my favorite memory of the Market was my shock and awe of the HUGENESS of the event!! I hadn’t been since it was a small loop of vendors in the tent!! The energy and excitement at market, with all the amazing vendors, is pretty amazing.
What’s your favorite place to get away in the summer? We just went camping for the fist time north of Payson. It was the best – quick trip, cool, and no electronics!!
Thank you so much Jeree for sharing! Head over to instagram to see what The Lemonade Parade is preparing for the next market!
