Business Name: Re-Decor-um
Personal bio: Hi, I am a Phoenix native and proud mother of four daughters. I am an Art teacher at a great non-profit private school, named New Way Academy. Loving art and design, getting into refurbishing furniture was a natural interest and hobby!
How did you start your business & why? Loving the idea of treasuring and sharing antiques and vintage items, I started collecting pieces and refurbishing furniture that seemed to have lost it’s interest to it’s previous owner! I love to experiment with paint, textures, and color so naturally love to re-do and up-cycle these old treasures.
How would you best describe your style and the items you sell? I love vintage styles, shabby chic and rustic pieces. I love to have distressed and chippy pieces at the markets, as well as decor from early 1900’s-1960’s. I always have an array of suitcases, crates, table ware, furniture, old tool boxes, and many unique one of a kind pieces.
When was your first Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market? My first Junk in The Trunk was in November of 2012 in the parking lot of Westworld.
And what is your favorite part about the event? Or a favorite memory? I love doing the markets to meet new people and share my love of vintage items.
What’s your favorite place to get away in the summer? I love both the beach and the mountains so try to get away to both each summer!
