Personal bio: Matt and Nikki Harrington own No. 11 and vintage is our passion. Matt grew up in Connecticut and learned about the antique business from his parents who were antique dealers. He would tag along at auctions, antique shows at Brimfield, MA and up and down the east coast. Restoring historic homes with his parents has given him his passion for re-purposing items into new and inspiring items for your home. Nikki has always had a love for the “thrill of the hunt” and is an expert “picker” who has the eye when it comes to finding items people love.
How did you start your business & why? No.11 was started when we realized that our vision and style for all things vintage had to be shared. We LOVE finding that one special item that people will talk about and remember from a special time in their lives. Our motto is “seconds count”, if you see it and like it, don’t hesitate because it could be gone in seconds.
How would you best describe your style and the items you sell? Nikki and Matt sell vintage, rustic and one of kind large and small items and furniture. They sell a little of everything.
When was your first Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market? No.11’s first Junk in the Trunk show was May 2014. This September will be their 4th JITT show.
And what is your favorite part about the event? Or a favorite memory? Our favorite parts are: 1) The line of dedicated shoppers before the show and the rush when the doors open 2) When the customers say, “I remember this…my grandma, mom or dad etc. had this and….” 3) When a customer finds “exactly what they are looking for” and also when they compliment us on our fair prices. 4) The best part is seeing the booth empty by the end of Sunday:)
What’s your favorite place to get away in the summer? Matt and Nikki and daughter travel every Summer to Maine. They pick items up on their trip and bring them to JITT.
