Business Name: In De-Stress Mode Furniture/Paint Junky
Personal bio: I grew up in small town Utah and moved to Phx 12 years ago. I love it here! I have three awesome children and one amazing husband!!! My hobbies are painting furniture and “treasure” hunting of course!!
How did you start your business & why? My love for flipping furniture began 6 or 7 years ago (I can’t remember exactly) when I bought some side tables and painted them. It totally removed all my stress that has build up during the day from raising my children !!! Hence the name, In De-Stress Mode, for my business. At first, I sold my items on Craigslist. Then I met Coley at the Kiwanis Flea Market in Cave Creek. I was buying and old rusty, green shovel. She looked at me and the shovel and said something to the effect of, “What are you doing with that shovel? Girl, we need to talk!” Then she told me about a little vintage market she and her friends were having in someone’s backyard and asked if I’d like to be a vendor. I was thrilled!! Other than painting furniture and “treasure” hunting, I have 3 awesome kids and a very supportive husband who has started helping me with my small business!!
How would you best describe your style and the items you sell? I sell painted furniture, hand crafted tables, coffee tables, benches and home decor. My first JITT Market was the very first one they ever held. I think there was only maybe 20 or so vendors there. It was so fun!
And what is your favorite part about the event? Or a favorite memory? My favorite part of the market is meeting all the incredible shoppers and other vendors! Everyone is so nice and I’ve been able to forge so many friendships with customers and vendors alike!! Such great people are apart of this market!! And Coley and Lindsey do an AMAZING job putting it together. It gets better every year!!!!
