Personal bio: I am from Buffalo, NY and make the trip to AZ for this show. Growing up as an only child shaped my creative imagination into what it is today. Not only do I design and create my fabulous jewelry line, but I am also a full time home designer, and a part time illustrator to ‘The Adventures of Dusty Popsallot,’ and ‘Dottie Digsallot Discovers Dinosaurs’.
How did you start your business & why? ? I started my jewelry design business from my passion to travel, and my desire to have things that are unique. The postmarks from cities all over globe share a timeless story and journey, that is carried on through my jewelry collection.
How would you best describe your style and the items you sell? My style is vintage adorable. A vintage postmark, mixed with a skeleton key or other charm, and sprinkled with adorableness. My jewelry line is styled with old postmarks from cities around the world. The pendants are then added to chains ranging from simple ball chain to sterling silver hand wrapped semi-precious stones. A fine mix of casual fun, or classic sophistication. I will rework any piece to make each piece a unique and meaningful piece for each buyer, which they love to do! They make great personal gifts for that special someone.
When was your first Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market? I think my first JITT Market was 2 years ago.
And what is your favorite part about the event? Or a favorite memory? My favorite part of JITT is when a customer looks at my postmarks and relives a memory from a place they have been, or a special date in their life. Then we take those pieces and create a one-of-a-kind necklace or bracelet that will be worn with pride and cherished for years to come. That original postmark sent through the mail is now sent on a new journey.
What’s your favorite place to get away in the summer? A favorite place to get away to, anytime, is ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’ – Disneyland! BUT, I will take anyplace in the world because travel and adventure is the inspiration to my jewelry.
