In light of our awesome theme this month, Kickin’ It Old School, we are going to share with you our obsession (yeah…its an obsession) with vintage furniture! And, because we have some crafty junkers on our team, a lot of this is also repurposed and up-cycled furniture. Enjoy!

“I have a few vintage pieces of furniture and I LOVE them all, but if I had to pick my favorites these would be them. The massive armoire, that oh so decoratively hides my TV, has moved with me four times. And let me tell you it is QUITE heavy, but so worth the trouble, it really pulls the room together. And the best part is that I got it for free!! Second to that would be my yellow chair that is actually part of a set, Lindsey has the other one. It is so bright and cheery; it’s definitely a statement piece and is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door.”

“The dresser was my husband’s and originally was a horrible shade of green. We refinished it white and I added new drawer pulls I made our of some wooden dragonflies and knobs I got from Michael’s.”
“The crib was bought in 1978 for my sister and has been used for 8 kiddos in my family. It had been in storage for 10 years when we got it out for the Little Bee, so we gave it a coat of Howard restor-a-finish, and brought it up to safety standards by ordering some new metal parts, removing the finials, and filing down the corner posts. It has been so fun to see my babies sleep in the same crib that I slept in!”
Wow! Talk about a true vintage piece! How do you decorate with vintage furniture? We would LOVE to see! Show us on instagram or in the comments below! Happy Sunday!
