Ok y’all! I am so excited to tell you about my fun adventure I had on Friday! My mom, dad and my baby, Benson headed to a small town Benson, AZ to the Historic Arnold Hotel. I was really excited about this because obviously my son’s name is Benson and our last name is Arnold. I was really hoping to get a fun sign with our name in it or some linens or something along those lines. Unfortunately there was nothing of the sort there but there was some really cool stuff! I got there and jumped right into the auction so I didn’t get that many pictures. Here are a few.
Benson tried to bid on everything. I think he would have spent all my money if he could have. Good thing he didn’t have a bid number!
I thought the green cots would make really cute little boy beds, but I needed at least two and they only had one, and I didn’t get to bid on these awesome mailboxes because they were auctioned off on Saturday. Big Bummer!
I haven’t had time to get good shots of what I got but I will post them when I do. I got a great barn wood top table, two pitchers from the Arnold Hotel and a couple chairs for a fun project you will see at the market!
Here are some picture of the actual hotel. A sweet old man bought the hotel 5 years ago and had to sell the contents of the hotel so he could afford to pay the mortgage and he was at the auction trying to buy some pieces back. I got to talk to him and wished I had enough money to buy everything back for him. It was so sad. The hotel was built in 1907 and was a place for people from the railroad to stay.
I begged them to sell me the Hotel Arnold sign but they wouldn’t do it. I understand, but I was bummed!
It was a fun adventure and I feel blessed to have got to see such a cool piece of history.
