I really love Thanksgiving! I am just as guilty as the next of jammin’ to Christmas music early when my husband isn’t in the car. However, I do appreciate him for making us take time to really celebrate Thanksgiving and not let it get skipped in the holiday craziness. (He has a very firm no Christmas until after Thanksgiving policy!)
No pressure of gifts + having family around the table and enjoying a delicious meal = perfect holiday!
I don’t really like to cook and I don’t love all the prep that goes into this meal, however, if we are hosting, I don’t mind spending hours prepping our tablescape!
Pair New & Old For The Perfect Thanksgiving Tablescape
I love a simple table and I love using things I already have. I usually head to the store for one or two new items for each holiday to mix up my tables.
The New
This year I purchased these table runners from Target. They are a little short, so I layered 2 together. And then added in these candles, also from Target.
We have a huge olive tree in our front yard, so my hubby and son clipped branches off to use down the center of the table. Broden helped me decorate and was really into the placement of the branches!
Our plates are from IKEA and I love them because they are so versatile and cheap! I’ve had them for years and they have held up pretty well. However, I’m not going to lie, I really had my heart set on these beautiful black plates from Magnolia but they were sold out 🙁
However, after seeing the crisp white plates next to these matte black silverware I found on Amazon a few years ago, the pairing gives the table a little more of a modern feel.
As for the napkins, I also got these napkins from Amazon a few years ago. I love the natural texture they add to the table, giving it a little depth. In hindsight, I probably should have ironed these, but who has time for that?!
The Old
I also love adding brass almost everywhere! The napkin rings shown above are vintage and they have the perfect patina!
The bottles are from my grandpa’s collection. He was a cowboy on a ranch and collected antique bottles he found on the land. Lots of cool history!
And the last touch is the Vintage candlesticks. I have a large collection that I have collected over the years at our markets, goodwill, and garage sales. They go with everything and look great in a group on a shelf when they aren’t being used on the table!

Your table is beautiful, Coley! I’m inspired. And the napkins don’t need to be ironed…they look effortless like that! Reminds me of Myquillen, the Nester’s look. Love it!
Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving!
