I made this flag bunting for my son Scout’s room. For someone like me who has minimal sewing skills, it was definitely NOT hard, and I really like how it turned out.
1) cut 8 inch x 10 inch triangles out of fabric. ten inches along the top, I guess I should mention. I went to the fabric store and bought scraps. I wanted a very mis-matched look so I literally just bought whatever caught my eye and this is what I ended up with. I cut 40 triangles.
2) I bought this canvas-y webbing, also from the fabric store, for 50 cents a yard. This bunting is 8 yards worth, and I had about 3 feet left that I didn’t use.
3) Zig-zag stitch each triangle into place. Super easy! I chose yellow thread, even though any color would have looked great!
It’s been fun putting the boys’ rooms together after we split them up a couple of months ago.
Scout’s room has no real “theme” except for lot of color – his favorite is green – and I’m keeping it very simple.
This project start to finish cost me $20 and took me about 4 hours to put together. Such an easy and fun project!
