I hope you guys all had a FANTASTIC Christmas!!! And of course the real question on everyone’s mind is did you get any good junk? I know the discussion was started on the facebook wall yesterday, but I just couldn’t pass up

an opportunity to share the wonderful things I got to add to my collections.

Those of you who know me….like actually in person know that I absolutely LOVE anything and everything Nautical, vintage, modern, navy blue or yellow, anchors, stripes or sailboats, I’m not picky I will take it all. It is a wee bit of an obsession right up there with Nancy Drew, bows and Pink Kitchen appliances (yes I am really well rounded in strange things to collect) this makes me either a loon or quite possibly the easiest person in the world to shop for. So naturally I was beyond excited when I opened up not one, not two, not three but FOUR wonderful vintage nautical gifts on Christmas eve.

The brass ship bookend is a near perfect match to one I already have -how fun is that? I plan to spread out the bookends of different bookcases and tables. I am even toying with the idea of painting the wooden wheel one. The ship picture will one day soon be part of a collage on my wall and the book “God is my Captain” will soon be accompanying my other vintage books not about sailing at all but with great catching sailing titles and covers.

And with that I leave you with three thoughts for the day:

1. What great stuff did you get for Christmas…..or find in the dumpster after?

2. Should I paint the bookend or leave it as it is?

3. And finally just know that if you ever have anything Nautical that you are about to throw out please feel free to send it my way hahah!
