daily double

frame 1
***Special Thursday guest post by Mandy …..like last week***

As much as I would love to make a fool of myself on Jeopardy, I’m bringing a new meaning to the daily double. It’s a double duty, one frame two ways.
This story goes way back, all the way to July when I bought this frame, I mean painting of an old man. I think I paid $1 for it at the GoodWill, it was purchased with the intent of painting it and giving it a new life. But then when faced with the decision of actually doing it I just could not make up my mind. Did I want to make it a chalk board or a cork board. After months and months of indecision I finally realized that I like Hannah Montana could have the “best of both worlds” and make it a reversible if you will frame.
I won’t bore you with all the details in photos as I’m sure you’ve seen something similar on another blog. But pretty much I painted the frame, normally I am a strictly turquoise and pink girl, but yellow has managed to worm it’s way into my heart as of late. So after an embarrassingly long time in the spray paint aisle and home depot I settled on this cheery lemon yellow color.
After painting it I trimmed down a piece of cork that I purchased from Walmart. With that option one, a lovely cork board display is done. Or if you are like me and want to take your project to the next level here’s what you do. Flip your cork piece over, and cover with chalk board paint. Thats right you can paint it right on the cork and it really works.
Now depending on my mood, or the needs of my room I can flip it over and change out the display.
