***Hey all it’s Mandy again, just stoppin over for a quick little Thursday project***
You guys getting sick of me yet? This week I have a nice little table redo for you. When I moved into my apartment I knew that I wanted a white round table (to go with my turquoise chairs). After checking out prices on tables I decided that I was going to find one on Craigslist and paint it myself to save a few buckaroos. It just so happens that I was able to find exactly what I wanted for a whopping $25. It was fantastic, a round pedestal table, with fun detailing and even an extra leaf to make it larger.
The whole undertaking ended up being about $40 by the time I purchased the table and all my supplies. Which was quite a steal, most of the tables I was on Craigslist were between $60 and $70 and well let’s just not even talk about what a new one costs.
First I had to sand it down a bit. And yes I do always sand things in the middle of the night while looking as sneaky as possible. It is the only way to go.
Then came the paint. I used a paint with primer in it to cut down on the steps. I like to make things as simple as possible. And I also used a hi gloss to make it nice and shinny. I think I ended up doing about four coats in total, only about two of which ended up on me haha. It took almost a full pint of paint that I paid $13 for. I used a roller on the top and pedestal, but a brush on the side to get it in all the little crevasses.
I am SO happy with the way it turned out. It looks so great with my chairs, right?!
With that in place I am nearly done furnishing my apartment, now all that is missing is the couch to go behind my great ottoman. Any good suggestions on where I can get a great, but still affordable couch in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area?
